I'm Kristina Schneider and I am an Interactive Multimedia Developer. After graduating from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, I was invited to be on the Advisory Committee for the Interactive Multimedia Developer program at Algonquin. I have experience working with a lot of kick ass companies and clients, building plenty of awesome projects and just having fun.
I like getting inspiration from anything, using it to bring a concept to life and working with great people to create unique experiences. My job is about listening, thinking, creating, sharing and learning, and I love that.
I am so passionate about what I do that I like to take it home with me. Aside from going to work everyday I also do a little freelance on the side. I am currently looking for a fulltime job.

This program will prepare me for a career as an Interactive Multimedia Developer in web and CD-ROM/DVD-ROM development. A strong emphasis is placed on developing the hands-on component, which is offered through courses in design, programming, development and authoring for the web, DSLR photography and digital imaging, media and design, animation, video/sound editing, and motion graphics. The program covers the essential elements of multimedia planning and development, and equal importance is given to the both the creative and technical aspects. We will complete individual, as well as team-based multimedia projects.
In the Interactive Multimedia Developer program I am learning the many different skills that will prepare me to pursue a career in the multimedia industry. Today, most businesses/organizations and government agencies need to communicate information electronically -- through the Internet, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, kiosks, computer displays, and other digital equipment. The software applications that I am using in this program include: Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Primers Pro, Acid Sound Studio, Flash, and Director.
This program emphasized hands-on learning, with a focus on the creation of digital artwork and the production processes leading to a final printed product. We did individual projects to perform all steps in the production process, as well as working in small groups to stress the importance of teamwork. We designed with the industry's best software, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, and Dreamweaver to produce such items as program newsletters, calendars, brochures, posters and small books. Industry support for the Print Media program is demonstrated by an eight-week "work readiness" placement, where students were required to fulfill the demands of employers, practice the skills and techniques learned in the Print Media program and acquire new skills and knowledge.
I took the General Arts and Science Program and focused on Media and Communication in order to explore career and academic options and to improve my academic base.
I am continuously learning, and keeping up to date with the latest design trends and coding tricks, building on my toolbox of knowledge from design to web programming. I am adept at working in both MAC and Windows operating systems.
